Lets be nastalgic!

So 2015 is slowly coming to a close, time to be nastalgic, look back and remember. I have no clue how I got here so fast. Time just flew by even though it didnt always feel that way. I have to say that this year has been the first that made me realise just how short a year can really be.

When 2015 approched it felt different to previous years. I could feel it in my bones and in every breath I took that one cold new year's eve standing on a friend's balcony in Amsterdam. Fear and change have been a big part of my life in 2015. It often consumed me. I would rather not get into details and be all doom and gloom but to put it into simple words my year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and happenings.
I tried talking about this before hand in an earlier post of mine but Im not ready to talk about it yet. I hope I may have the confidence in the future and hopefully inspire others going through the same.

Life will be life but they do say when you hit rock bottom things can only get better and you start elevating upwards. You start rebuilding everything and thats where 2016 comes in. I'm hoping 2016 will be brighter and give me more opotunities to be happy and smile. In 2015  I learned a lot about appreciting what I have, loving who I have in life despite how bad times are or negative the  aspects, that are attached to them, are. There is always something that shines light into your life.

I learnt a lot about myself too and I still am. I tried out new things and they have helped and inspired me greatly. What suprises me is how much I have changed and that some of my interests have shifted. It feels kinda scary to start this new chapter but Im sure it will be alright. I dont regret the past because it shapes my future but I can help guide it into the right direction. With that I would also like to conclude that I will no longer be continuing on this blog. I want to broaden my horizons and I feel limited doing that on this blog. I look back fondly at all the memories I have written about these past few years. They were good times and lets hope there will be many more.
I may return some day but I am not sure. If you are interested in continuing to follow my adventures just let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading one last time and take care!

Belated Blogaversary!

I know I am way too late on this one but I wanted to write about it anyway because it suprised me so much. Surprised in a good kind of way.
I started my blog in May 2009 as a creative outlet for my poems, lyrics and stories and it bloomed into what it is today. Counting the years from today I saw that it's been 6 years and 6 months since I've started writing this blog, which makes me insanely proud. Its one of the only things that I still have in my life today that continuously sparks my interest and enthusiasm regardless how many times I forgot, didnt want to write. My blog hasn't lived up to its full potential yet but there is always room for improvement. I think I got way too caught up in what other people were doing and achieving that I forgot to see what I was achieving.
I havn't been blogging like I would like to and I think that that's okay. I want to write and enjoy what I do and not feel forced to write something or write about something that doesnt spark my interest enough.
I want to keep this short and simple so here's to 6 years and months and may there be many more years and months filled with happy stories and writings.

Thanks for reading! Your's truly,

October Time! Introducing: 31 days of Halloween!

Hey everybody!

Yes, yes, yes it's finally October! Halloween season has begun!!! Mwahahaha!
I've been waiting forever for it to get colder and to find a reason to wear my jumpers, jackets, hats and scarves again and to get all spooky of course. I really like this time of year. Like I mentioned in my previous post for me this is a special time of year. I always feel more motivated, confident and happy for some reason. I have a lot to look forward to I guess. All the celebrations, the leaves turning into lovely colours, pumpkin's, being more creative, traveling and much more. Plus, being a Youtube junkie, I love how creative everyone online gets. You see awesome Halloween themed make-up tutorials, delicious season cooking and baking, creative DIY's for decoration and much, much more.
Also every year from the 1st of October on until the 31st Kat, from the channel HelloBatty, makes Halloween videos called 31 days of Halloween. These are pretty much my October high-light. I've been following her ever since she started 31 days of Halloween. Her video's are so cool. I really enjoy watching them. I've recently been rewatching them over and over again because I just couldnt wait until this years batch of video's. They're gonna be awesome!

With all this spookalicious Halloween hubub around me I had a creative thought. I've been meaning to do much more with my Youtube channel and ever since last year I wanted to participate in the 31 days of Halloween challenge too, just like Kat from HelloBatty. I rememeber Kat asking if anyone else was also doing the challenge and if so to let her know so she could watch your video's too. It made me think so I decided to give it a try. This year I'm doing my own 31 days of Halloween. Which means every day one video from the 1st of October until the 31st. Well I will try at least. Wooooo! I hope things work out! It's definitely going to be fun! I will update the blog as much as I can with the video's, plus other Halloween and autumn related posts will continue too.
Check out my first video below. Its just a brief introduction but look forward to more awesomeness to come!

Japanese Market and Japanese Streets in the Netherlands

Back in May I revisted the anual Japanese market in Leiden which is organised by the SieboldHuis museum about Japan every year. The SieboldHuis has one of the worlds largest Japan collections and right next door is the Leiden University which offers a Japan program.
The Japanese market came to be in 2000 when the Japanese emperor visited the SieboldHuis museum. Ever since then it became a very popular attraction. The market exists of many different stalls associated with Japan and its culture. From food, to traditional clothing, bonsai trees, martial arts, bento, kawaii and much more. They also offer an array of fun activities like music and dance performances and a cosplay photo-shoot.

After haven skipped the previous year I was very excited to go. My mum accompanied me this time round and we would meet my friend Deborah and her parents there.
We were ever so lucky to have great weather too. It was so warm and sunny. Which had a great impact on everyones mood.
Once we arrived at the market we decided to walk along the stalls first. There were so many different things to see, do and eat. It didnt take long untill we endulged in some tastey fresh sushi. It was delicious.
A day or so before, the J-fashion community was informed that the Japanese Streets photographer Kjeld from Tokyo would be attending the market too. He was hoping to take pictures of J-fashion lovers for his blog. The Japanese Streets website portrays an array of J-fashion styles in Tokyo, Japan. It is very well known and I swooned about the idea of possibly being a part of it.
Kjeld is basically a street fashion shot photographer. He walks the streets of Harajuku searching for unique fashion styles. I was very excited that he was interested in wanting to take pictures of us here in the Netherlands.
We were told to meet up at the bridge around 2 ish. Me and my mum arrived quite early so we took to exploring the rest of the market first. Along the way I met Deborah and a lot of my friends who were so daintily dressed in their best Lolita coords.
The SieboldHuis museum is right in the middle of the market and they had a lovely opening ceremony with balloons, welcoming everyone and hoping for another great year. Every year I want go into the Sieboldhuis museum and every time I forget to go. Its a big shame because this time round they had a wonderful kimono exposition which might not come back for a long time. So I definitely have to go next year and explore its wonders. Ive heard from many people that its wonderful inside.
Around two, after haven been up and down the market a few times, we headed towards the meeting point. It was quite a while before Kjeld finally arrived. Me and Deborah were so happy! Kjeld was such a nice guy and I loved the fact that he spoke Dutch, English and Japanese. Plus his name was originally of scandanavian decent. Very international. He even knew my friend Cat from Tokyo. I swear we live in a small world. She's a fashion photographer too and also works for Kawaii Pateen.
The photo-shoot was a lot of fun. The small group that showed up looked amazing. We were a nice mix of styles. Plus meeting Kjeld was fun too. I hope to meet him again one day. Hopefully in Tokyo. Thanks so much Kjeld for your time and the great photos. All the photos in this post are the property of Kjeld, Japanese Streets website. Take a look at the shots he took of me.

LBC: Make A Fall/Autumn Coord

Hello everyone!
Im back with another Lolita Blog Carnival post. Summer has come to an end and autumn is slowing creeping in. My favorite time of year. I love the weather, the smells, the vibes, the festivals, the food and the fact that I can bundle myself up in layers and layers of clothing. Not that I dont do that all year round already. To me autumn is that special time of year. That most spiritutal time of year. Its also a great time to wear Lolita more often and not feel as uncomfortable as in the summer. If it were up to me there would be a special international Lolita day in autumn too.
In this weeks post I got way too carried away with autumn themed coords and warmer clothing coordsin general. I made three different looks. One is a casual everyday look, the second one a outdoor coord and the third one is a special tea party occasion coord. I was inspired by Kawaii Peteens recent video with Misako Aoki talking about different coords for different occasions. So here are mine:

Casual Autumn coord

Casual cute coord

I chose Angelic Pretty's cream cookie OP because when I think of autumn I think about baking and flavors that warm one up. Thats why I added the cute brown coloured caplet coat to give the look a warm cozy look. I kept it very simple to make it more casual and comfortable. This would be a great coord to wear when on a cookie baking date.

Outside Autumn coord

Outside Autumn Lolita Coord
Autumn is going to be more chilly and windy, at least here in Europe, so it calls for a lovely wam coat. And to make it more autumn I kept to brown natural colours.

Special occasion/tea party  coord

Autumn outfit
The print on this dress is my absolute favorite. I have this one in black. Which would have been a great colour-way to use for this too. I basically spiced up the coord with lovely gold accents which match very well with the brown colours. It makes the look more special and not too casual. This would be a coord to wear to a tea party meet. A little out there but not too much.
